Feet Care
From the day our children are born they are the most precious things in our lives and we would do anything to ensure they come to no harm. Yet surprisingly statistics show that even though 75% of parents agree it is important for their children to be properly fitted for shoes, yet only 46% take their children to be measured twice a year or more and a quarter go once a year or less! The remainder of parents never take their children to have their shoes properly fitted. The key reasons for regular measuring are:-
- Children’s feet grow in spurts so their footwear should be checked every 6-8 weeks when they are toddling and then every 3-4 months there after.
- The bones in a child’s foot are not fully formed until their late teens and can therefore be vulnerable to damage and deformity from ill-fitting shoes.
- Experts agree that around 70% of foot problems in adults can be attributed to ill-fitting shoes worn as a child.
At Raspberry Laces our qualified staff understand the importance of regular fit checks. This is why we offer a free no-obligation service and will not recommend a purchase of shoes unless the child needs them.
