Fitting & Size Guide
What do you look for when deciding if it’s time to buy your child a new pair of shoes?
For babies and tots, they will soon tell you if they need a pair of shoes simply by walking around! If your child has been walking confidently for approximately 10 – 12 weeks, it’s possibly time to start thinking about their first pair of fitted shoes. The type and style will depend on their current stage of development, so simply pop into our shop in Horsham, West Sussex, or give us a call to find out more.
For older children, the best guide is a simple rule of thumb. Their big toe should be a thumb away from the end of their shoe and the shoe should fit snugly – not too tight or too loose. If your child’s shoes are heavily worn, particularly on one side, or on the front or back, this will tell us plenty about their gait, and also what kind of shoe will be best – a rough and tumble, robust little ricosta, or a less rigid, lower backed pump.
Don’t worry if you are not sure whether your child needs a new pair of shoes. We will carefully double check their size and measurements at our shop. We’ll then show you all the options and enable you and your child to choose the very best shoe for you. This is the beginning of looking after their precious feet, more of which can be found by clicking on the link.
